PlayStation has published information on its blog about the upcoming release of Minecraft on PS4 platform. The game will feature worlds that are 36 times larger than those on PS3 format. Existing players can import games saved in PS3 format to their PS4 consoles. Sony indicates that making the older format PS3 saves compatible with the newer version was a priority for them, to award their loyal customers. For the same reason anyone who previously bought for PS3 will be able to upgrade to PS4 for a small price. Initially this will work only for digital downloads of the game, but the company is working to make this available also for boxed disc version.
