Bethesda has revealed that they are to hold a conference at E3 this summer for the second time.

The news was revealed through Bethesda Softworks’ official Twitter account. A cryptic message that read “are you game? #BE3” was included alongside an image featuring caricatures from their various published and developed games.

Bethesda’s E3 Showcase was revealed to be scheduled for 7pm, Los Angeles local time, on 12th June 2016.

After the roaring success they enjoyed at last year’s E3 conference, Bethesda’s decision to hold the event again surely hints that the publisher will have enough major announcements up their sleeve to run a conference at the expo a second time.

E3 2015 was owned by Bethesda’s press conference, in which they unveiled the surprise announcement and release date of Fallout 4, their first mobile game Fallout Shelter, and also showed footage of and discussed other games such as Doom, Battlecry, The Elder Scrolls Legends, Dishonored Definitive Edition and Dishonored 2.

However, after the 2015 press conference, the likelihood of another Bethesda E3 event was improbable. Speaking at the time to The Telegraph, Bethesda’s marketing executive Pete Hines said that he wasn’t sure whether they would do one again. He said that it felt like the right time to put on a major conference, as opposed to a booth at E3.

It was evidently worth the effort to hold a conference last year, due to the major game releases Bethesda revealed. The decision to put on another clearly hints that Bethesda, once again, has something special to reveal to the industry and their fans.

As for what Bethesda will actually unveil, their scheduled topics will remain secretive. It is quite probable that Fallout 4 DLC packs will take up a large portion of the conference. Doom, set for release in 2016, will also likely get a showing, as will Dishonored 2.

Fans of The Elder Scrolls might be disappointed, as Bethesda said in August 2015 that a subsequent TES title wouldn’t be announced for “a very long time.” Although after E3 2015’s surprise Fallout 4 revealed, all bets are off.
