Ubisoft on future of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint

Ubisoft has given players an update on the future of Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. The game launched to very mixed reviews, with some players enjoying the title, and many fans of the previous game, Wildlands, hating it for a number of reasons.

In their blog post, Ubisoft talks about the major points of Ghost Recon: Breakpoint that they’re working on for future release. The first is a large number of technical issues with the game. These range from the plastic appearance of characters, to malfunctioning drones and an enemy AI that begs to be shot. All of these, Ubisoft assures fans, are being worked on behind the scenes. With Title Update 1.0.3 planned for mid-November, some of these issues could be fixed before too long.

Ubisoft also briefly gave an update on two other related technical issues with Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. The first is AI teammates, which were promised to be coming soon after the game launched. While the feature is still planned, Ubisoft has prioritized other issues over this feature in order to deliver an uncompromised experience. The second technical issue is the in-game economy, a big complaint in the game’s community. Nothing is happening soon, but Ubisoft told fans that they are working on reconfiguring the economy to make it worthwhile.

The second main point that Ubisoft touched upon was the post-launch content for Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. They explain that the game’s first raid, Project Titan, and the planned Terminator crossover event, are still coming to the game. The raid and time limited event will arrive at some point in December, giving players a lot to do in the holiday period.

The final point that Ubisoft mentioned was immersion in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. The game has survival features and some immersion features that aren’t as in-depth as players want them to be. There’s also a loot system that seems completely pointless. Ubisoft wants to make changes here to provide a more immersive and realistic experience. They didn’t go into details, but it sounds like a loot overhaul, and new total immersion mode, are on their way to Ghost Recon: Breakpoint in the future.
