Sony held its final State of Play livestream event for 2019, and packed it with some very exciting announcements for both this and next year. These are the biggest announcements from the event.
Untitled Goose Game for PlayStation 4
The very first announcement from the event was that Untitled Goose Game is finally coming to PlayStation 4. The game will launch on the 17th of December, bringing the game to yet another new platform, along with trophies.
Resident Evil 3
Resident Evil: Project Resistance was revealed as the multiplayer element for the remake of Resident Evil 3. The remake got a new trailer, and a release date of the 3rd of April 2020. Hopefully the early release window will prove to be as helpful to Resident Evil 3 as it was to Resident Evil 2 this year.
Ghost of Tsushima
TheState of Play event ended with a partial trailer for Ghost of Tsushima, a new game from developers Sucker Punch. The trailer will be continued during The Game Awards on Thursday, causing agony to fans who are eager to see more of this game.
Dreams
Dreams, a creative game that allows players to build their own games and experiences, has been in open beta for quite some time now. Today the date when the game will officially launch was announced, the 14th of February 2020.
Babylon’s Fall
A new game from Square Enix and Platinum Games, Babylon’s Fall looks to combine the combat and gameplay that Platinum Games are known for with the type of world and lore that square Enix specialise in with the Final Fantasy series. More information about the game will be released in summer 2020.
Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind
Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind is a new piece of DLC for Kingdom Hearts 3, extending the story of the main game and bringing closure to fans for certain questions. The DLC will launch on the 23rd of January 2020.
Spellbreak
The magic focused battle royale game Spellbreak is coming to PlayStation 4. The game’s twist on this well known genre should make it a more interesting option for the PlayStation 4 player base. An open beta for Spellbreak will begin in Spring 2020.
Superliminal
Superliminal is a game about the idea of how deep dreams go, and using perspective as a game mechanics. The game is already available on other platforms, but is coming to PlayStation 4 in 2020.
Paper Beast
Paper Beast, a new PlayStation VR game, was also revealed during the event. The game puts players in a unique sandbox filled with interesting creatures. Players will control the environment in order to help a group of animals on their path through the world. The game is currently due for release in Q1 2020.
Predator: Hunting Grounds
A new trailer, and the first real look at Predator: Hunting Grounds was one of the highlights of the event. The trailer revealed that the game stars a few different classes of Predator, and the ability to select weapons and abilities to help with each match. The game will launch for PlayStation 4 on the 24th of April.
