Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee and Pikachu releasing soon

The latest Pokemon titles will launch in just over a week for Nintendo Switch. While many expected a new full Pokemon RPG for the console, Nintendo instead elected to push that title into 2019, choosing to release a tie-in to Niantic’s popular mobile title Pokemon Go first.

Pokemon Go will launch on November 16, 2018 in two different editions. Both editions are available to pre-order for the retail price of $59.88 in the US and £44.99 in the UK for the base game, with some retailers offering small pre-order bonuses such as a Pikachu or Eevee keyring.

The core differences between Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee and Pikachu aren’t currently known. Usually Pokemon games launch together with each edition having a set of Pokemon that are unavailable on the other version. This encourages trading between players, as the overall goal is to collect every Pokemon in the game. From footage shown of the game the only difference that might exist is in the Pokemon the protagonist travels with, changing from Eevee to Pikachu depending on the verison.

A Pokeball Plus version of Pokemon Let’s Go is also available to pre-order, this version costs retail $99.99 in the US and £89.99 in the UK. The Pokeball Plus version comes with the Pokeball Plus accessory for Pokemon Let’s Go. This accessory acts as a controller for players to use to capture Pokemon in-game, instead of using the Joy Con controller. The device also acts as a Pokemon Go Plus accessory, allowing players to store a Pokemon in the ball and take them on the go, building up kilometers walked to earn candy and hatch eggs.

The Pokeball Plus with Pokeball Plus Drop and Charge Stand edition of Pokemon Go comes with everything from the Pokeball Plus version. It also contains a stand which will charge the Pokeball Plus. This edition can be pre-ordered for £106.98 retail in the UK.

Finally, there are also two new Nintendo Switch bundles arriving on November 16th alongside Pokemon Let’s Go. These bundles feature a limited edition Nintendo Switch console with custom Pokemon decorations on the back, as well as on the charging dock. The Joy Con Controllers come in themed colors for Eevee and Pikachu. This bundle can be pre-ordered for £339.99 in the UK, and comes with Pokemon Let’s Go pre-installed.
