Capcom have promised that the Switch version of Dragon’s Dogma will not only include all previously released content, but an updated user interface as well. This updated UI was created with the Switch’s screen size in mind and aims to maximize the amount of data on the screen at any one time, without compromising the experience. The game will be playable in both handheld and tabletop modes.
The Switch version of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will be the same as the version that was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2013. Players will be able to create their own character and take on one of the nine vocations available.
The pawn system will also see a return in the Switch version. This mechanic allows players to create and customize side characters to tag along with them on adventures. These pawns can be made available to others online, who will be able to download them and play alongside them, and vice versa. Capcom have said that this system won’t require a Nintendo Online Subscription.
Dragon’s Dogma takes players on a journey through a breathtaking world in which they must fight huge monsters, on a similar scale to Monster Hunter. Throughout their quest they will level up and experience everything the world has to offer.
The Dark Arisen expansion added a whole new area to Dragon’s Dogma when it released. Bringing new monsters, quests, and near endless hours of exploration, with smaller stories to find and experiences to be had.
Dragon’s Dogma is one of the most underrated RPGs of the last generation. The game saw a remastered release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 3rd of October last year. It’s unclear as to whether the Nintendo Switch version of Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will feature the same remastered visuals. However with UI enhancements and other changes made for the game it’s likely that some other visual enhancements have been made, if not all of them.
