Following on from the massive successes of both Fallout 4 and Fallout Shelter, Bethesda is to expand their operations by opening a new studio in Montreal, Canada.
The new studio will allow Bethesda to expand their capabilities in console, PC and mobile game development. The studio will by lead by veteran developer Yves Lachance, who will direct more than forty developers.
Having worked in a wide variety of game development studios, Lachance is well qualified to head Bethesda’s new operation. With more than 20 years’ experience, he has recently held the position of studio head at Behaviour Interactive, whose recent titles include Fallout Shelter and Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade.
Lachance said he is thrilled at the chance to work in the city of Montreal, famous in the gaming industry for housing studios such as Eidos Montreal, Bioware, Gameloft, Ubisoft, Square-Enix Montreal, and Warner Bros Games.
Bethesda’s Game Director and Executive Producer, Todd Howard, said that he is excited to bring new games to the table alongside the many talented developers in Montreal.
