A busy month with a lot of new releases: September 2019

FIFA 20

September 2019 will be an incredibly busy month for video game releases. The following are just some of the titles that consumers will be getting their hands on over the course of the month.


Spyro Reignited Trilogy for Nintendo Switch

Catherine Full Body for PlayStation 4

The remake of Catherine will launch for PlayStation 4 on September 3, 2019 as Catherine Full Body. The remaster includes updated visuals, as well as some entirely new content in the form of new challenges, storylines, and a brand new love interest, Rin.


NBA 2K20

NBA 2K20 - PS4 NBA 2K20 - Xbox One NBA 2K20 - Switch

NBA 2K20 is this year’s iteration of the beloved NBA 2K basketball game franchise. The game brings new features to the plethora already available in the games, and launches for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch on September 6, 2019.


Batman: Arkham Collection

All three Batman Arkham games from developer Rocksteady are coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6, 2019. The trilogy includes Batman Arkham Asylum, Batman Arkham City, and Batman Arkham Knight.


Monster Hunter World: Iceborne

Iceborne is the first major paid-for expansion for Monster Hunter World. The hugely successful monster hunting title is taking players to a brand new continent, where they will fight new, mysterious monsters. Iceborne launches for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on September 6, 2019.

eFootball PES 2020 launches on September 10, 2019 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Konami is rebranding their beloved football simulation franchise in an effort to appeal to the eSports market, with a core focus on online gameplay. The game is available in a standard version for $59.99 (£44.99), as well as in Manchester United, Arsenal, and Celtic editions for £49.99, each of which has a unique case and in-game content.


Gears 5

Gears 5 - Xbox One

The fifth installment in the Gears of War series rolls out on September 10, 2019 for Xbox One. Players will once again step into the shoes of COG soldiers as they fight against a mutated enemy that is pushing for control of the planet.


Greedfall

GreedFall - PS4 GreedFall - Xbox One

Greedfall launches for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 10, 2019. The game is a brand new RPG from developer Spiders. In Greedfall players take on the role of a diplomat sent to a recently discovered island in order to parlay with the factions there. Over the course of the story they will need to make certain decisions that will affect the future of everyone there.


Borderlands 3

Borderlands 3 launches for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 13, 2019. The game is the third main installment in the series, taking players beyond the planet of Pandora and across the local system for the first time. The huge range of weapons that the franchise is known for returns with Borderlands 3, as does a zany cast of new Vault Hunters to play as.


Daemon X Machina

Daemon X Machina - Switch

In Daemon X Machina players take on the role of huge mechs, and are tasked with destroying hordes of enemy demons that threaten the world. The game is exclusive to Nintendo Switch, and launches on September 13, 2019.


NHL 20

NHL 20 - PS4 NHL 20 - Xbox One

NHL 20 is this year’s installment in the popular NHL franchise. On top of improved visuals and controls, the game offers an updated character roster to provide the most realistic experience of the sport available. NHL 20 launches on September 13, 2019.


Nintendo Switch Lite console

Nintendo Switch Lite - Yellow - Reveal

The smaller, and more portable, version of the Nintendo Switch launches on September 20, 2019. The console will play all Nintendo Switch games in handheld mode, and comes in three colors: grey, turquoise, and yellow.


Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch Remastered

The remaster of the first Ni No Kuni game launches for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on September 20, 2019. The game was revered for the world it created, the story it told, and the incredible RPG action it provided to players when it first launched. Now it can be played for the first time on current generation consoles.


The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening

The remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening is a Nintendo Switch exclusive, launching on September 20, 2019. The game tells the same story as the original, but has visuals that have been rebuilt from the ground up, as well as some fun new additions from other franchises.


The Surge 2

The sequel to The Surge launches on September 24, 2019 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game packs in more of the same action RPG gameplay, but speeds up combat to bring it more in line with other souls like titles such as Bloodborne and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.


Dead by Daylight for Nintendo Switch

The Nintendo Switch version of Dead by Daylight launches on September 24, 2019. The game is well known for its four vs one gameplay, and with the imminent launch of the new Stranger Things expansion, there’s no better time to start playing.


FIFA 20

Tropico 6

The sixth core Tropico game launches for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 27, 2019. In Tropico 6 players take on the role of the governor of an island, and they must choose whether to please the local communist rulers, or give in to the rule of the commonwealth, both of which can have dire consequences.


Code Vein

Code Vein - PS4 Code Vein - Xbox One

The latest in a growing list of soulslike titles, Code Vein launches for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on September 27, 2019. The game puts players in the role of a custom character, and they must fight through hordes of enemies in a world overthrown by vampiric forces. The title appears to innovate on the core souls like concepts more than any other, and it will be interesting to see how fans receive it.
