Red Dead Redemption 2 is back to the top of UK Charts

Red dead Redemption 2 has retaken the top spot in the UK weekly physical sales charts, meaning Rockstar Games have finally reclaimed their position. This week marks the first in 2019 that Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2 has been in the top spot since it launched in October. The game has seen off competition from Kingdom Hearts 3, New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, and Resident Evil 2 Remake. Although the game did fall further down the chart when these games initially released.

Last week’s number one game in the chart, Kingdom Hearts 3, saw a week-on-week fall in sales of 87 percent, and thanks to a week-on-week sales increase of 14 percent Red Dead Redemption 2 was able to push to the top of the chart.

Kingdom Hearts 3 on the other hand has dropped down to third place in the chart. FIFA 19 has seen a rise in week-on-week sales of 6 percent, resulting in it rising to take second place in the chart after a number of weeks below the top two.

Resident Evil 2 Remake has fallen from second place down to fourth this week thanks to a week-on-week decrease in sales of 67 percent.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, and Mario Kart 8: Deluxe Edition all remain in the positions they were last week. Respectively the games remain in fifth, sixth, and seventh place in the chart.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy has risen from tenth place last week to take eighth this week, and last week’s number eight, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, has fallen to ninth this week. Rounding off the top 10 best-selling games at retail in the UK is Grand Theft Auto 5, giving Rockstar Games have a healthy presence.

The only new release for the week, Monster Energy Supercross 2 debuted at 34th in the chart.

The coming week brings a number of new releases. The much-anticipated Crackdown 3 will grace Xbox consoles at last, and the latest Far Cry spin-off entry, Far Cry: New Dawn, will subvert expectations of the franchise once again. Finally, the latest entry to the post-apocalyptic series set in Russia, Metro Exodus, will take players on a journey outside of the usual environments seen in previous titles.
