Microsoft has revealed the massive list of the Xbox 360 games to be made available on the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility programme.
Totalling in excess of one hundred games, the list contains some of the best games of the 360 generation. The full Gears of War series, Fallout 3, Assassin’s Creed 2, and Fable 2 are some of the hit titles to be included.
For those who aren’t impressed by the games chosen for backwards compatibility, the backwards compatible games list will expand in the future. Microsoft will add the Bioshock series, Burnout Paradise, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Halo Wars and Halo Reach as well.
A couple of highly notable games are not present, however. Mass Effect 2 and 3 are not known to be planned for compatibility, despite the first outing being part of the first wave. Additionally, neither Bethesda’s Skyrim nor Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption are to be seen.
Major updates are coming to Xbox One this Christmas period. The backwards compatibility function and a massive update to the dashboard are set to significantly heighten the Xbox One experience.
The full list of the 104 initial games to be made backwards compatible is as follows:
