The absolute leader is Grant Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5), this was expected, as the game sold for almost $500 million in the first couple of days after the release, an astonishing result, which no other entertainment product, including any movie, other video games, or book, has ever achieved in history so far. In overall over 25 million units of GTA 5 have been sold in 2013.
Other top runners also include usual and well expected new releases of best-selling franchises, such as Call of Duty: Ghosts (12.71 Million units sold), Fifa 14 (8.11 Million units sold). Interesting new comers were Pokemon X and Y (7.64 million units sold), and Sony’s new title, The Last of Us (3.69 million units sold).
