A massive number of 77,000 Steam accounts are stolen by hackers every single month, according to owner Valve.

Various developers have been accused of artificially raising their prices before putting their games on sale on the Steam Store, reports say.

The first week of November was a successful one for Bethesda, who managed to secure both the number one and sixth best-selling game on Steam.

Computer gaming giant Valve’s proprietary operating system, SteamOS, performs poorly when running games in comparison to Windows, reports say.

Steam’s top 10 chart for the period of 2-8 August shows the continued dominance of Psyonix’s physics-based vehicle sports game Rocket League.

Statistical research by the market data group Superdata has estimated that the total revenue earned by Steam in 2014 reached $1.5bn, with Valve earning $730M out of that total amount through both their own sales and commission from third party sales.

Last week Steam has started allowing content creators to sell their mods, user made content. The first game that gets experimenting with this new approach is Skyrim, Bethesda’s ultimately moddable open-world RPG.
