Week ending on March 30, 2019, the UK’s Top 10 chart of the best selling retail and wholesale video games, Nintendo’s Yoshi’s Crafted World releases and takes the top of the charts. Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 keeps the second place. Sekiro Shadows Die Twice pushed down to the third place.

Yoshi’s Crafted World for Nintendo Switch has topped the UK physical sales charts, making it the second Nintendo number 1 for 2019 in terms of physical sales. The last Nintendo game to top the UK charts was New Super Mario Bros U.

Nintendo has now joined the ranks of publishers with two titles to top the charts in 2019, including EA with FIFA 19 and Anthem, Ubisoft with The Division and Far Cry New Dawn, and Capcom with Devil May Cry 5 and Resident Evil 2.

However, Yoshi’s Crafted World could easily have been in second place this week. The title sold just 63 copies more than The Division 2, which has been one of the most successful MMOs to launch in 2019. Yoshi’s Crafted World also makes the number of new games to top the charts this year alone up to eight.

While The Division 2 fell to second place in the chart, sales for the game only dipped by 51 percent week-on-week. This is a good performance for a triple-A title in its second week on sale. The game still hasn’t made up for its low launch numbers though, and has a way to go before it does.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice dropped to third place in the chart, with a fall in sales of 65 percent week-on-week. The game has been incredibly popular with its niche audience, but because this style of game is considered to be quite difficult many gamers avoid them.

Assassin’s Creed 3 Remastered entered the chart in ninth place, but it’s important to note that the game was given as a free download to season pass holders for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. THQ’s Generation Zero entered the chart in nineteenth place, which is impressive considering that the game has had little marketing coverage.

Skybound’s The Walking Dead: The Final Season debuted in twenty-third place in the chart, though many players will have already bought the online pass and have been waiting for the final episodes to drop digitally.

Finally Outward from Deep Silver entered the chart in twenty-fourth place. The game is a unique survival RPG that blends a number of elements together like never before. Outward has also seen little marketing in the lead up to launch, but looks to be popular with those who play it.
