Vampyr has given publisher Focus Home Interactive their first ever number one game in the UK game sales chart. Dontnod’s open world vampire adventure saw an increase in week one sales of 234 percent compared to The Surge, published last year from developer Deck 13. 69 percent of copies were sold on Playstation 4 and 30 percent were on Xbox One. This makes Vampyr the third new original IP to make the top of the charts this year.
Detroit: Become Human dropped four places, a drop of 46 percent in sales week-on-week. God of War however has managed to go up a spot to third place thanks to a week-on-week sales increase of 12 percent. GfK believe that God of War’s increase in performance is thanks to Sony’s Days of Play promotion which is currently running.
Days of Play has also aided other games in gaining sales recently. Gran Turismo: Sport is up to seventeenth place, a rise of 20 spots and a 107 percent increase in sales week-on-week. Horizon: Zero Dawn: Complete Edition has also seen an increase in sales, re-entering the sales chart in twenty-fifth place, showing sales up by 124 percent week-on-week.
Free World Cup content has continued to boost FIFA 18 sales, landing it in first place last week. This week the game is down to second place with a small decrease in sales of 27 percent.
Due to the expansion launching on June 5th The Elder Scrolls Online Summerset entered the top 40 sales chart for the first time. This is a popular and highly-anticipated expansion for the game because of the setting, The Summer Isles. The game debuted in twenty-sixth position.
OnRush entered the chart this week as well, in thirty-fourth position, and MotoGP debuted in fortieth place. OnRush has been gathering momentum with its recent open beta and unique take on the racing genre.
