Week ending on July 13, 2019, the UK’s Top 10 chart of the best selling retail and wholesale video games, Super Mario Maker 2 holds the top of the physical chart. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled stays on the second position, and F1 holds the third place.

Super Mario Maker 2 has enjoyed a third consecutive week at the top of the UK retail sales chart, keeping ahead of its only major competitor, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled.

With a modest drop in week-on-week sales of 38 percent, Super Mario Maker 2 is still the best-selling game at retail in the UK. The title recently saw the huge milestone of 2 million courses uploaded reached, with many more joining the ranks since then.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is 1,000 units behind Super Mario Maker 2, and has seen a drop in sales of 31 percent week-on-week. In four weeks on sale the game only took the top spot for its first week, and has been unable to compete with Nintendo’s exclusive since then. In terms of overall sales, Crash Team Racing is well ahead of Super Mario Maker 2, given that the title is available across all platforms.

F1 2019 is another non-mover for the week, sticking in third place. Just behind it in fourth is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Edition, which is yet another game that hasn’t shifted week to week.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 shakes up the bottom end of the top five this week as a new entry. While the title released on both Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch, the game has sold best on Nintendo’s console so far, with 67 percent of sales.

Hollow Knight is another new release for the chart, debuting in thirty-fourth place. Once again the game released for Nintendo Switch and Playstation 4, but sold best on Nintendo Switch with 66 percent of sales. While the game has been available for a while on all consoles, the physical release has been long-awaited by many gamers.

This week was fairly quiet for physical releases on the whole. 148,107 boxed games sold in total for the week, with only 2,500 units sold being enough to get a game into the top ten. Only 1,000 sales were required to even enter the top forty.
