Week ending on September 22, 2018, the UK’s Top 10 chart of the best selling retail and wholesale video games, Marvel’s Spider-Man keeps the top of the charts. Shadow of the Tom Raider keeps the second position, and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy took the third place.

With a week still to go before FIFA 19 releases on all platforms no games have been able to knock Spider-Man from the top spot in the UK physical sales chart. Week-on-week boxed sales of Spider-Man have fallen by 57 percent, but despite that it’s still holding strong in the chart.

In terms of physical sales Spider-Man has outsold God of War, which proved to be a big seller when it released earlier this year. The game is only two or three weeks away from becoming the biggest release of 2018, a title currently held by Far Cry 5. Many expect FIFA 19 to claim the title for its own however, since the games always sell incredibly well and the fact that this year’s iteration is packed with even more features than any other FIFA title.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider has maintained second place in the chart with a similar drop in week-on-week sales, 52 percent. This drop is fairly solid for a game’s second week on sale comparatively, showing just how popular the Tomb Raider reboot series is. It’s anticipated that the game will continue to sell well through the holiday period as many gamers pick up the end of the reboot trilogy to play through during the Christmas holidays.

With the Spyro Remastered Trilogy delayed into November Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy has moved up from fourth to third place in the chart. The game will likely see a drop off in sales once Spyro does release, but even then the holiday season will no doubt give the game a boost. So far Crash Bandicoot has been in the chart for 65 weeks, and shows no real sign of dropping out any time soon.

NBA 2K19 fell to fourth with the rise of Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, not bad considering it’s been on sale for a little while now. Grand Theft Auto 5 has held out in sixth place for another week, showing that news of Red Dead Redemption 2 Online releasing in around 2 months has had little impact on physical sales.
