Week ending on February 8, 2020, the UK’s Top 10 chart of the best selling retail and wholesale video games, FIFA 20 returns to the top of the UK physical charts. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare takes the second position. Grand Theft Auto V is on the third place.

FIFA 20 jumped back to the top of the UK physical sales chart last week. The game saw a 32 percent increase in sales week-on-week, and managed to overtake Call of Duty: Modern Warfare by 1,000 units.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare still had a good week however. The game saw a 5 percent increase in sales week-on-week, and continues to sell better than its predecessor, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, by 3 percent.

The year is still quiet on big releases, with most now set for release in the latter half of 2020. The only new game last week was Zombie Army 4: Dead War from Sold Out and Rebellion. The game debuted in eighth place in the chart, which is the same as the previous game when it launched, Zombie Army Trilogy.

While Zombie Army 4: Dead War sold 43 percent fewer copies than Zombie Army Trilogy did at launch, it’s thought that there’s been a significant increase in digital downloads since 2015. The game has performed very well with critics, leaving very little room for it to flop.

Ring Fit Adventure saw a big boost last week, overtaking Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Edition as the best-selling Nintendo Switch game at retail for the week. After the game re-entered the chart last week, in seventh place, it has now moved up to fourth thanks to a 31 percent increase in sales week-on-week. This is the highest position the game has been in since October 2019, when it launched.

Ring Fit Adventure requires an accessory for players to use it, so all sales are physical. Due to some stock shortages in recent months, the game’s sales plummeted. These sales show that interest in the game hasn’t faltered in that time though.

Dragon Ball Z: Karakot dropped to twenty-second place in the chart, and Minecraft on Nintendo Switch saw an increase in sales of 5 percent week-on-week, though it still dropped from sixth to seventh. Finally, NBA 2K20 saw a continued boost to sales, this time of 4 percent week-on-week, which was just enough to move it back into the top ten in tenth place.
