The Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy has returned to the top position in UK physical sales charts, making it the eighth time the game has topped the chart in total. The game saw success this week thanks to the release of new versions for PC, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The Xbox One version was the best-selling but only just managed to beat the Nintendo Switch version for sales, with 250 copies between them.
Last year Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy stormed the charts to become one of the best-selling games of the year, despite it only being available for PlayStation 4. The Nintendo Switch version has become the fastest-selling Switch game of 2018 thanks to popularity and a lower price tag of £30.
The Crew 2 took second place this week and it unfortunately failing to deliver what fans and critics expected from a sequel to the original. The game has sold 25 percent less than the original, which released in December 2014, however four years have passed, digital sales are far stronger, and that was the holiday season. The original game found its feet after a number of updates, and with multiplayer on the way for The Crew 2 in September there’s still plenty of time for the game to impress.
With the World Cup still driving sales of FIFA 18 Mario Tennis Aces fell to number 4 this week. Sales dropped by 53 percent, which is still a good show for a new game on a new console.
Thanks to the Switch version release Wolfenstein 2 The New Colossus rose to seventeenth place, up twenty three places. Harvest Moon: A Light of Hope debuted at twenty sixth place this week, and Far Cry 3 Classic Edition debuted at thirty seventh. The new Harvest Moon game sold best on Nintendo Switch, with 78 percent of all sales on the platform compared to 22 percent on PlayStation 4.
