Days Gone has retained its spot at the top of the UK physical sales chart for another week, making it the third one consecutively. However, the game’s success seems to be due to a quiet week for releases once again.
While Days Gone has sat unmoving in first place in the chart, Mortal Kombat 11 has been hot on its heels. Mortal Kombat 11 continues to sit in second place in the chart, most likely thanks to the game’s launch for Nintendo Switch on Friday, but can’t quite manage to get ahead of Sony’s exclusive title.
The top six games in the physical sales chart are all unchanged thanks to an extremely quiet week for releases. However, in terms of units sold the games are a lot closer than you’d expect. The difference in copies sold between the game in fortieth position and Days Gone this week was a mere 12,500.
In fifteen Saints Row The Third – The Full Package re-entered the chart. The game’s release for Nintendo Switch last week brought the series to an entirely new audience, and portable consoles for the first time. An entry to the series was planned for PlayStation Portable (PSP) but the title was cancelled early on in development.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice saw a big drop in week-on-week sales of 60 percent. As a result the game sits in thirty-ninth place now, a drop of twenty-seven places, and almost entirely out of the chart.
Thanks to a promotion that priced the game at £5, The Evil Within 2 has seen a surge in sales. The game placed in thirty-second in the chart this week. Similarly Hitman 2 saw a promotion that priced it at £20, boosting it to twenty-third place in the chart for the week.
