Elden Ring dominated Circana’s US charts for June, with sales surging due to the release of its Shadow of the Erdtree DLC. The game topped the charts across PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam, marking its return to the top spot since May 2022. It was also the most-played game on Steam, while Fortnite led on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
Square Enix’s Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece jumped from No.399 to No.3 after its Steam release, having previously been exclusive to Nintendo Switch as a cloud version. June saw two notable new releases: Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance at No.4 and Luigi’s Mansion 2 at No.8.
The Elder Scrolls: Online re-entered the Top 20 at No.18 following the release of The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road, and Street Fighter 6 climbed to No.20 due to promotional pricing.
Mobile content showed stability in the top five, but Roblox experienced a 15% revenue increase, while Pokémon Go saw a 22% revenue rise and a 32% download spike after its eighth-anniversary event.
Overall, consumer spending in June dropped 5% year-over-year to $4.6 billion. Content spending decreased by 2% to $4.1 billion, despite a 12% year-over-year increase in mobile spending and a 4% rise in non-mobile subscription content. This was overshadowed by a 26% decline in console platform content spending.
