The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom remains at top

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, continues its impressive streak by claiming the top spot for the fourth consecutive week in the UK boxed charts. In terms of physical sales alone, it has now secured its place as the third best-selling Zelda game in the history of UK charts, surpassing the legendary N64 release, Ocarina of Time, which captivated audiences back in 1998. Its ranking is slightly lower than the immensely popular Breath of the Wild from 2017 and Twilight Princess from 2006.

The game successfully fends off competition from Street Fight 6, which makes its debut at #2 in the UK charts. While its physical sales may not match the level of popularity achieved by the Resident Evil games in boxed retail, it is anticipated that the majority of Street Fight 6’s sales will be through digital channels. Notably, 79% of its boxed sales were on PS5, with 13% on Xbox and 8% on PS4, though as usual, the Xbox audience skews heavily towards digital purchases.

In other chart movements, FIFA 23 slips to third place after experiencing a minor 4% decline in sales compared to the previous week. Hogwarts Legacy drops to fourth place, despite an 11% increase in sales, while Mario Kart 8: Deluxe also falls to the fifth position, although enjoying a 10% rise in sales.

Regarding new releases, only one game makes its entry into the charts, with Company of Heroes 3: Console Edition debuting at #32.

As for recent releases, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor falls to sixth place with a 7% decrease in sales week-on-week. LEGO 2K Drive now occupies the seventeenth position with a slight 8% decline in sales during its third week.

Last week’s entry, Lord of the Rings: Gollum, has completely disappeared from the Top 40. Making a modest entry this week is an Evercade game, as the Evercade Team17 Amiga Collection 1 debuts at #40.
