Hellblade announced for Xbox One

Hellblade

Developers of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Ninja Theory, have announced that their critically acclaimed action game will be coming to Xbox One.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is an action title that explores mental illness using the world of Norse mythology to view it in new and clearer ways. Up until now the game has been exclusively available on Playstation 4 and PC, which will no longer be the case when it makes the jump to Xbox One on the 11th of April.

The Xbox One version of Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice will include a number of new features and upgrades which take advantage of Microsoft’s Xbox One X, the most powerful console on the market. The Xbox One version provides three enhanced modes to choose from, taking advantage of HDR and 4K capabilities. Ninja Theory told press that the Enhanced Visuals mode provides better visual quality and FX while playing, High Framerate mode boosts the game to 60FPS, and High Resolution mode will run the game with dynamic resolutions of up to 4K.

The game is available to pre-order from today, with a 10% discount for any customers who pre-order the game before launch. This discount, Ninja Theory say, is a thank you for patient Xbox Ninja Theory fans, putting the game at £24.99/$29.99.

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice originally launched in August 2017 and was praised for the way it explored mental illness in a way never seen before. Players take on the role of Senua who goes on a vision journey in order to come to terms with the death of her family. The game excels at telling the story of a grieving young woman dealing with the traumas of her past in such a way that takes the player out of their comfort zone for the right reason.

Initially many fans believed the game would be a much anticipated sequel to 2007’s Heavenly Sword, but it turned out to be a very different game to Ninja Theory’s hack and slash adventure. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice is playing an important role in helping people understand mental health and battling the misconceptions surrounding it.
