Bohemia Interactive reported good financial results for 2019, with 4.5 million units sold, and the company grossing $68 million in total.

Based in the Czech Republic, Bohemia Interactive is most well known for their work on DayZ and Arma 3. In 2019 the company launched more games and DLC than they ever have before, making for an incredible productive overview.

DayZ was a particular highlight for the company. The game launched for both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 during 2019, having been an incredibly successful PC title for many years before that. Console players immediately fell in love with the game because of how open it is to emergent gameplay.

In 2019 alone, 1.1 million units of DayZ were sold, which pushed lifetime sales of the game up to 5.8 million in total. The latest expansion for the game, Livonia, sold 400,000 units in addition to this 1.1 million, having launched in November.

Arma 3 surprisingly sold 2.6 million units in 2019. This pushed lifetime sales of the game up to 5.5 million. DLC content sales ended 2019 at 9.7 million units sold.

The free-to-play Xbox One exclusive that the company has also been working on, Vigor, launched out of beta in August 2019. In early access the game gained the interest of 700,000 players, but once it launched it managed to attract more than 4 million.

A company spokesperson explained in a statement how Bohemia Interactive celebrated their 20th anniversary at the end of 2019. At this point, the company had managed to finish all in-development projects, and celebrated fantastic sales for a single year.

In 2020 the company plans to introduce their latest technology, Enfusion. This will form the base of every Bohemia Interactive game moving forward, and will revolutionize the products that they produce for people to play.

DayZ is showing no signs of slowing down, and with DLC expanding both it and Arma 3, there’s no reason that players will be giving up on either of them anytime soon. If Bohemia Interactive continues to do in 2020 what they did in 2019, they stand a good chance of being one of the biggest companies in the industry for the year.
