Soedesco, a Dutch publisher and developer of video games, have opened a second studio in Pilsen, Czech Republic. The new studio increases the company’s numbers in addition to their first location in Rotterdam.

In a press release the company explained that the new studio is primarily focused on developing new experiences and content for the next generation of gaming, producing games for both Google Stadia, PlayStation 5 and Project Scarlett.

As Soedesco expanded to create their own content they opened their first, Rotterdam based, studio in 2015. The company has worked on such titles the Nintendo Switch ports of Among The Sleep and Defunct. However, Soedesco has said that they are going to continue working on their own content with this new studio.

In January this year Maximum Games announced that they had struck an exclusive distribution partnership up with Soedesco, and they became the company’s Irish and UK distributor. Under this agreement Maximum Games have helped distribute the 8-Bit franchise, including 8-Bit Armies, 8-Bit Hordes, and 8-Bit Invaders, Monstrum, and Xenon Racer.

Steve Powell, Managing Director for Maximum Games UK, told press at the time of this partnership that the company were delighted to be working with Soedesco, representing them in the UK market.

Jack Chauthi, Managing Director of Soedesco, responded to Powell’s statement by saying how thrilled the company were to be working with Maximum Games. He added that he’s confident that Maximum Games will increase the presence of Soedesco’s brand in the UK and Ireland in 2019 thanks to their wealth of experience in publishing and distribution in the regions.

Soedesco’s back catalog of games includes popular titles such as Teslagrad and Ether One, as well as smaller games that found a home with fewer fans, including Tower of Guns and Awesomenauts Assemble.

Currently Soedesco plans to launch both Truck Driver for consoles, and Dollhouse later in 2019. It’s likely that the studio is working on a number of other titles given that these two are nearing their final release date. However, no details have yet been confirmed regarding what Soedesco is bringing to the next generation of consoles, whether they’re working on remasters, sequels, or brand new IPs.
