There is already a big number of games confirmed for 2018, the following is a list of the most anticipated games releasing next year that may provide best selling potential. If you are interested you can find more information about the methodology used for the assessment.
 

Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2

The sequel to Rockstar’s open world cowboy adventure set towards the end of the wild west has been confirmed for release in spring 2018. Details on the game’s story are light, but the trailers shown so far indicate that it will be set before the first one. Players will be able to roam the Wild West like never before with even more activities to take part in, and even more horses to ride into the horizon on.
 


A Way Out

A Way Out

Developed by Hazelight Studios, A Way Out is a game in which players take on the role of one of two brothers. Every moment of the game is fully playable from the perspective of each character, and players in the same room or online will be working through the story together as they help the brothers escape prison, the police, and attempt to return to a normal life. A Way Out is slated for release on March 23, 2018.

Kingdom Hearts 3 is the latest release in the beloved Kingdom Hearts series that has spanned almost every console on the market. The games bring together the worlds and characters of the Final Fantasy games and the Disney movies. In this conclusion to the Dark Seeker Saga players must fight to stop Master Xehanort from bringing about the second Keyblade War.
 


Metro: Exodus

This is the third installment in the Metro series, based on Dmitry Glukhovsky’s novels, set after the Redemption ending in Metro: Last Light. Players take on the role of Artyom, a 22 year old who escapes the Metro in order to explore the devastated post-nuclear apocalyptic world with the Spartan Rangers. They will travel the wider continent of Europe and see the end of the world as portrayed in the Metro games like never before.
 


God of War

God of War

The latest God of War title is the fourth in the series, moving protagonist Kratos into Norse mythology as opposed to Greek. Here he is a different man to the one known from the previous games. In this reboot of sorts to the series Kratos has a son named Atreus, whom Kratos must protect and teach, mastering the rage that has driven him for so long instead of using it as a solution to every problem he encounters.
 


Far Cry 5

Far Cry 5

Set in Montana USA instead of a remote island or mountain location, the Far Cry series continues to redefine madness in this latest entry. In Far Cry 5 a religious cult by the name of Eden’s Gate has overtaken the fictional Hope County, murdering innocent people and instigating their own law. Working with the local resistance players must fight back against the cult that is trying to convert the entire area into their religion.
 


Anthem

Anthem

Anthem is being developed by Bioware, creators of the Mass Effect and Dragon Age series, and published by EA. The game is an online MMORPG set in a distant future in which the outside world is teeming with monsters. The only people who can leave the safety of the giant walled cities are those who wear powerful Exosuits known as Javelins, which grant the wearer inhuman abilities and the power to fend off the creatures outside.
 


Marvel’s Spider-Man

Marvel’s Spider-Man

The latest Spider-Man game, which releases in 2018, is being developed by Insomniac Games, famous for the Ratchet and Clank and Resistance series. In this game Peter Parker has been Spider-Man for a few years and so has experience with his powers when players take control of him. The villains look to be lesser known characters from the comic series such as Mister Negative, bringing new life to parts of the Spider-Man lore people won’t have seen before.
 


Soul Calibur VI

Soul Calibur VI

The latest entry to the Soul Calibur games brings back the classic roster of characters players are used to fighting with, and potentially a few new ones. The fighting series also brings back each character’s unique weapons and skills, with 8 way movement to allow for 360 degree fighting. The series has always had some interesting characters such as Darth Vader, and Link from the Zelda games, but there has been no confirmation of any unique characters for Soul Calibur 6 as of yet.
 


Detroit: Become Human

Developed by the creators of Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain, Quantic Dream, Detroit: Become Human explores a world in which androids become self aware and released from human control. Through the story of a number of characters players will explore a world in which humans use androids on a daily basis, from acting as a nanny for their children to experimental detectives using the latest computing technology, and what happens when those machines don’t want to be controlled anymore.
 


Sea of Thieves

Sea of Thieves is a PC and Xbox One exclusive from Rare. The game puts players into a massive open online world of pirates and the high seas. Players are able to join a crew, buy a ship, explore desert islands for treasure, fight monsters, and most importantly fight other crews on their ships. The world will offer a freedom on the seas unknown to gaming so far, and promises to provide endless hours of enjoyment.
 


Monster Hunter: World

Monster Hunter: World is the first Monster Hunter game to introduce a completely seamless world for players to explore. The game features a 50-60 hour long campaign with a huge number of side missions and optional activities to complete. Players must create a protagonist and hunt the wildest and most dangerous monsters of the world across all corners of the world, using resources taken from their kills to craft new, impressive weapons and armour to show off to friends online whom they hunt with.

Every area has two sides to it, and players can switch between them at any given time to help them solve puzzles with the perspective of both sides of the map.

In this game players will be able to combine the powers of Kirby and his allies in order to produce new powers and solve puzzles in different ways.
 


Shadow of the Colossus

Shadow of the Colossus is a remake/remaster of the original Playstation 2 title, which has already been remastered for Playstation 3. The game has been completely reworked to provide better visuals than any remaster ever could, in some cases with new animations to bring the game up to date with other current titles. In the game players must take on huge boss-like creatures, each one of which is a puzzle and must be taken on with care and consideration.

The Crew 2 looks to add a new diversity to the racing genre while keeping the loot-based continuous experience that all MMOs use for players to progress and advance.
 


The Last of Us Part 2

The Last of Us Part 2

Sequel to the critically-acclaimed The Last of us, Part 2 continues the story of Joel and Ellie in the world after a brutal outbreak of a fungal virus that completely transforms people into uncontrollable monsters. While no story details have been confirmed it is suspected that only Ellie will be a playable character, with a new female role taking over from Joel. It appears that Joel is out of the picture and Ellie is hunting those who may have killed or hurt him, who may or may not be part of a shady cult.
 


Crackdown 3

The latest title in the Crackdown series makes players more powerful than ever before. The streets are filled with dangerous criminals and players must take them down in this ambitious MMO, putting players in the shoes of agents who are tasked with keeping the peace in this futuristic city gone mad.

Ni No Kuni 2 is the highly anticipated second game in the Ni No Kuni series. The game is a third person role playing title set hundreds of years after the first game. Players must take back the kingdom from a usurped ruler, taking advantage of the battle system to complete main quests, side stories, and level up characters to intrinsic detail as they were able to in the first title. The unique world of Ni Ni Kuni will be built upon in this sequel with the introduction of new tribes and races, all of whom play a role in the wider world.
 


Dragon Ball FighterZ

Dragon Ball Fighter Z players must fight with Goku and his friends against a newly revived Android 16 army. Bayonetta 1 & 2 for Switch

This remake of the first two Bayonetta games for Nintendo Switch is being developed by Platinum Games. The Bayonetta series puts players in the role of Protagonist Bayonetta, a witch, who must fight against evil forces battling to change and control the world. Players will use a unique fighting system and abilities powered by Bayonetta’s suit, made from her own hair, to summon demons from hell to battle with the foes they come up against.
 


Fifa 19

Fifa usually releases every year, in September, and hopefully 2018 will not be exception. There is still no much information about the game, other than it will definitely have high demand, especially in Europe, so pre-order large quantities well in advance.
